Key evidence has been released in the case of a Halifax man accused of stockpiling dangerous chemicals.

An exhibit obtained by The Canadian Press contains an analysis by a forensics expert, who concluded Christopher Phillips did not have essential bomb-making ingredients.

Phillips’s lawyer, Mike Taylor, says police should have let the public know the risk was low before ordering evacuations in Nova Scotia and Ottawa in January.

Phillips and Taylor appeared in Nova Scotia Supreme Court yesterday to confirm a judge-only trial to deal with charges of uttering threats and possessing a weapon.
