If you have not been exposed to the new Land Registration System yet, you will be when you sell or re-mortgage your property. All parcels of land in the province will eventually be entered (or “migrated”) into this new system, which is designed to simplify future property transactions. The process is usually activated with sale or refinance of the parcel and the seller’s or mortgager’s lawyer is required to do the work to migrate the property.
